Making a few cards

June brings some special occasions that need a one-of-a-kind card. This first one is a birthday card for my sister. I used this week's Stampendous sketch challenge as well as the add-on reques for a stamped background. The star lilies are a cling stamp and background stamp is from the "just a little note" clear set from Stampendous. The paper is punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.

I used the theme of itty bitsy stamps from Anne Gaal's monthly challenge to create a card for a friend who is battling breast cancer. The background is created with a gold web spray paint. The mat is stamped with Hero Arts "flower plate" stamp. The inchies are from several small sets.

This card's background is made with alcohol inks smooched on a craft sheet and stamped with archival coffee ink. The butterfly is a Hero Arts clear stamp from the "antique engravings" set and the mat is " flower plate". The sentiment is by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps-"dream silhouettes" clear set.

  1. Hi, Jan! Wow! What stunning cards! I love all the thought and details that you put into them! Such treasures!

I adore the gold web spray painted background on the middle card. It looks so cool! And the inchies are wonderful. Perfect card for your friend!

I also love the alcohol ink background that you overstamped on the butterfly card. The sprig of leaves is a fantastic final touch!

Thanks so much for participating in my challenge! :-)

  2. P.S. Where does one find gold web spray paint, anyway? I am feeling the need to experiment!

  4. Three beautiful cards Jan, love them all, but if i had to choose just 1 then I think the butterfly card with the alcohol ink background is my favorite. Mind you that background on the itty bitty stamps card looks rather fun - what kind of paint exactly is that? Am I right in assuming it sprays out those strands of colour rather than a mist?

  5. Krylon webbing spray paint is what I used for spraying on the black background. The paint comes in white, black, silver and gold. Kinda fun for a different look. Another fun spray paint is Krylon glitter.

  6. Oh my goodness, Jan, I'm glad I didn't see this post until today. Of course the last is my favorite since it's living here with me right now. Thank you for sharing all the details here. It's stunning and you're so kind to send it to me. Your sister's bday card is gorgeous, too. I love the way you almost cut the oval and then fussy cut the stems. The krylon spray is fantastic. I never remember to get that. I need to write it down. It gives such a gorgeous effect.
